Sigiriya
The Ancient Rock Fortress
Sigiriya also known as the Lion's Rock is a rock fortress and a palace located in the Matale district of Sri Lanka and nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. This site was the Kingdom of King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) and he built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. This massive rock fortress is listed as a UNESCO listed WorldHeritage site.Category
