Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct
Time stands still on a 21st century block
Considered to be one of the oldest buildings in Fort, the Dutch era hospital today is a glamorous shopping arcade and a hangout with great dining options. The hospital’s close proximity to the port saw it serving Dutch seafarers even though it was originally established to treat the staff of the Dutch East India Company. Paintings from the era show a canal running alongside the hospital but it was later filled up by the British.Category
